NETWORKING
Networking is basically communicating and engaging in conversations or connections with other people who can help you to achieve what you need to get done. FOR EXAMPLE, Twitter, Facebook, & Myspace are 3 ways that you can NETWORK. Its a large platform filled with people such as producers, dancers, models, managers, CEO's of companies, A&R's and so much more. You just have to learn how to market yourself and speak to them in a swift but convincing way.
Networking is A POWERFUL term to know because It WILL get you into the right doors. Sometimes you may NOT get to where you want or need to through 1 connection but It will help you make it to the next person that may LEAD YOU into something / someone who will change your life.
Personally, I use those social media websites such as Facebook, Myspace, especially Twitter, to help with communicating to those people who I would never see if I walked out my front door. I take every opportunity that I can to make sure that I spread the word to these "connections" and also with that I promote myself as the singer / songwriter / model / dancer / actor / fashion designer that I am. I actually do believe that TWITTER is my biggest social media platform, followed by Facebook. They bring all these people together into 1 large "fishbowl" and it provides alot of OPPORTUNITY !
Other forms and great ways to network ...
- Having a WEBSITE and giving that url out
- Handing out BUSINESS CARDS
- Word of MOUTH travels fast
So use those resources as much as you can, even DAILY, just to make sure you build that RELATIONSHIP with those people who make help take your career to the next level !
